Summary Of Governors' Meeting - November Print E-mail

Summary of the items discussed at the meeting of the Governors on Monday, 27th November, 2018

  • The completion of the Heard Building was deemed a great success and the Governors were pleased to see so many parents and former teachers support this venture at the opening ceremony.
  • Communications with parents - In order to allow parents an opportunity to meet the Governing Body,  the Governors agreed to host a meeting with parents on the 7th March 2018 at 7pm
  • The Governors celebrated the excellent work of the SCA with special thanks to Mrs Galya Holden for stepping up as interim chair, Mrs Sharp for running the summer fete, Mrs White for her hard work on the second hand uniform sales, Mrs Curtis for her work as Treasurer, Mrs Bruin for her work as Secretary and to the Year 3 mums who ran the prep school disco (Ms E Mewis, Miss L Ezeonyim and Mrs O’Grady). The Governing body would like to encourage new parents to support the SCA and to step forward to ensure this vibrant and successful association continues to support the children’s lives at St. Christopher’s The Hall.
  • The Governors will be defining their roles in terms of areas of responsibility at the next meeting and will have specific staff with whom they will liaise. To this end, staff who are subject coordinators will meet with the Governors in the near future.

Happy New Year - Letter from the Headmaster Print E-mail

Dear Parents,

Firstly may I wish you all a Happy New Year and hope that Father Christmas brought you everything you wished for. Welcome back to what is not only the start of a new term but a new year! Many thanks for all of the Christmas gifts and cards - all gratefully received. Of course, the more expensive bottles of wine will ensure excellent end of term Headmaster's reports and grades for respective children (only joking !).

For your information, Winter uniform continues throughout the term, while Prep. school games require the appropriate kit list for netball and football. Meanwhile, Thursday swimming starts on January 11th and includes Y2, Y5 and eventually Y6.

A comprehensive calendar will follow in due course but you may like to note that Parents' Evening for KG through to Y6 will take place on Wednesday, 21st February.

I look forward to seeing you tomorrow morning at the gate and hope that the Lent term is both productive and enjoyable.

Kind regards,

Andrew Velasco.
